• 2007 Carmenere Gran Reserva,casa Rivas, Maipo Valley Red Wine Casa Rivas Tear into some juicy steaks with this terrific, damsony-rich, tobacco and bramble fruit-scented Chilean red, from old, low-yielding Carmenère vines. A star of London's 2004 Wines of Chile tasting, it's a joint effort from Mariano Salas (who owns vineyards in Maipo's cool, dry Maria Pinto Valley) and Margaux-trained biodynamic winemaker Alvaro Espinoza.
